Modern enterprises require data to fuel operations, and healthcare organizations are not exempt from this need. Yet, as other industries transform that data into actionable insights, providers continue to struggle in this area: It’s estimated that 97% of all hospital-produced data goes unused every year, according to the World Economic Forum.
With advancements in artificial intelligence and analytics platforms, there is promise that the transformative power of data will take greater strides in healthcare in the coming years. Tools and processes that will dissolve data silos, offer real-time insights and provide more personalized care look to be healthcare’s future.
But before healthcare organizations can race ahead, they need to ensure they have the right foundation to support current operations with an eye toward emerging technologies.
